Los Cabos: They say "its back" but it never went away
Many a traveller have been confused by Los Cabos. It is a municipality of two towns - Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo - as well as the resort stretch that lies between the two towns. the munipcipality lies on the southern tip of Baja California Peninsula in the larger Mexico's Baja California Sur State.
Untli the last half of the 20th century, the region was a remote rural setting. In a bid to promote tourism, the Mexican government initiated a project to market Los Cabos for business and leisure travellers. Today, it is one of the most important Mexican leisure destination.
Among the leisure activities that the region has become synonymous with include;sports fishing, golfing, snorkeling, sunbathing, scuba diving, sailing, deep sea fishing, shopping, fine dining and many more.
The rumor mills have been doing rounds that Los Cabos have lost its lure as a top vacation destination...well, they were just rumors. That the mainstream media publishes that the resort city is 'back' is telling. The region never went away. The economies of the west (the main source market of travellers here) have been on a downward trend from around 2008 to 2013. Now that they are back on track, traveller numbers have taken a sudden surge.
If you are serious about taking a break and making new friends, then there is no better place to take your vacation. The sun, the food, the leisure activities and the happy crowd are just irresistible. The holiday mood is always in the air here. Trust me; it will rub off on you too!
