Shipboard Concert for Military Families by Carrie Underwood
It’s time to celebrate! Carnival Vista just completed a transatlantic crossing and has arrived in the U.S. for her first time. To honor this momentous occasion, they hosted an overnight gala event onboard the ship in New York featuring a lot of fun activities.
The festivities included a concert for Operation Homefront military families by seven-time GRAMMY award-winning country music super star Carrie Underwood, fresh off of her win as Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards. The official naming ceremony also took place, hosted by the godmother of Carnival Vista, Deshauna Barber – the first woman serving in the U.S. military to be named Miss USA. In addition, hundreds of military families and travel agents were provided with overnight accommodations, entertainment and the opportunity to explore the wonderful amenities of our newest, most exciting ship yet.
The festivities represent the culmination of Honor. Family. Fun., Carnival’s year-long celebration to support Operation Homefront and help the organization fulfill its mission of building strong, stable, and secure military families.
On November 27th Carnival Vista arrived at her new homeport of Miami where she will sail year-round Caribbean itineraries. As their newest, largest and most innovative ship to date, Carnival Vista introduces a number of groundbreaking innovations including the first-ever brewery on a North American-based cruise ship, the first IMAX® Theatre at sea, the most elaborate water park in the fleet highlighted by the 455-foot-long Kaleid-o-SlideTM, a groundbreaking bike-ride-in-the-sky aerial attraction called SkyRide®, and two new accommodation classes, Tropics-inspired Havana staterooms and suites featuring exclusive access to the Havana Bar and Pool and Family Harbor, with specially designed staterooms for families, a family concierge and more.
