the-beaten path sights, and unparalleled history to the rest of it's European neighbors.

Are you new to Estonia? Many are just beginning to uncover the fairytale land of Estonia. Here are a few tips to get you going.

Tallinn

Located on the Gulf of Finland in the northern part of the country, Tallinn is most famous for its spectacular Old Town. With original medieval walls, Tallinn's Old Town is the best preserved old town in all of Europe. Because of this, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hiiumaa & Saaremaa

A short ferry ride away from the mainland, takes you to islands that boast untouched nature, small-town charm, and extensive history. They can be explored by foot, bike, or car. Outside of Tallinn, many consider the islands to be the best examples of quintessential Estonia.

North Estonia

Home to Lahemaa National Park and just an hour from Tallinn, the beautiful park stretches along Estonia's northern coastline. It features quaint villages, lakes, coves, limestone cliffs, forests, and enormous boulders left behind during the last Ice Age.

Experience information

  • Estonia
  • Facing the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland, Estonia is a country in Northern Europe. Visitors to the country encounter a mix of urbanity and wilderness, of the medieval and the contemporary, with crumbling castles and colourful design permeating urban landscapes. The smallest and arguably most scenic of the three Baltic states (which also includes Latvia and Lithuania), Estonia is a wildly beautiful land of pristine forests, biodiverse wetlands and remote offshore islands; natural assets that offer a spectacular contrast to the brooding, gothic aesthetic of its medieval capital, Tallinn.
